Ginny & Georgia season 3: Release date speculation, cast, plot and latest news
Everything you need to know.
Ginny & Georgia season 2 proved so popular with viewers that Netflix renewed the drama for both seasons 3 and 4.
"It feels surreal still," said Antonia Gentry (Ginny). "The show’s success has meant so much to me, more so just because it's touched so many people globally."
The cast banded together to share their excitement over the announcement in the below video, as well as touching upon some of the major plot twists from the previous chapter.
Fans will remember that Georgia's wedding to mayor Paul Randolph ended in disaster when she was arrested for the murder of Cynthia's husband Tom while he was in a coma.
"When we had to develop the storyline for season 2, we knew exactly what we wanted season 3 to be," writer and executive producer Sarah Lampert told Netflix. "Georgia needed to kill someone and she needed to kill someone in Wellsbury, Massachusetts."
How will she wriggle out of this one? Will her past crimes catch up with her? And what about her relationship with her daughter?
"They've already hit rock bottom, I don't think it could get any worse than it's already been," said Georgia star Brianne Howey (via Netflix). "We can literally only go up from here."

Ginny & Georgia season 3 release date speculation: When could it air?
After a five-month standoff, the Hollywood writers' strike was resolved in September. But the actors' strike is still ongoing, which means filming still cannot commence on multiple shows, including Ginny & Georgia.
But there was a two-year gap between seasons 1 and 2, so fans of the show are used to exercising patience, albeit reluctantly.
Ginny & Georgia cast: Who could return for season 3?
The two leading ladies, Georgia (Howey) and Ginny Miller (Gentry) are obviously returning, which means Nikki Roumel will also be back as young Georgia.

- Felix Mallard as Marcus Baker
- Sara Waisglass as Maxine 'Max' Baker
- Jennifer Robertson as Ellen Baker

Ginny & Georgia season 3 plot: What will happen?
Plot details have yet to be confirmed for the third season, but Lampert has teased "new hurdles, new relationships and new challenges".
In season 2, Ginny may have finally confided in her dad about her mental health, but the teenager also had to contend with a surprise break-up from Marcus (Felix Mallard) and navigate new friendships at Wellsbury High during her MANG friendship group exile.
There was also the return of Austin's abusive dad Gil, which threw up its fair share of challenges.
His plan centred around blackmailing Georgia and her fiancé Paul (Scott Porter), but when one-time mayoral candidate Cynthia Fuller (Sabrina Grdevich) witnessed Gil's abuse, she blocked his rental application.
But the biggest shock was yet to come.
In the finale, Georgia was arrested at her own wedding reception for the murder of Cynthia's dying husband Tom – a huge cliffhanger than left both Ginny and Georgia's futures in serious doubt.
"The show is going to look really different in season 3... because this was a woman who was a superhero at what she did, and now she's been caught," said Lampert. "It's almost like Superman got taken down. We'll see if she can get out of this mess she's found herself in."

There's also the question of who Ginny and Austin will turn to now that their mother has been arrested, which will "surprise" viewers, according to Lampert.
The series creator also said that "honestly anything could happen" when it comes to whether Paul will remain with Georgia, as well as prompting viewers to continue tuning in to see if there's any "romantic future" for Joe and Georgia after all.
But nevertheless, the Miller family could very well be the most united they've ever been.
"Going into a season 3, in success, the Millers are on the same team now, they’re a united front, and that's interesting, we've never seen that before," said Lampert. "We spent all of season 2 getting them there."
As for Ginny and Marcus? Well, Lampert simply states that "all bets are off". Will they find their way back to one another romantically? Or will they both gravitate towards someone new?
Other plot points include Abby's eating disorder and Ginny's exploration of her own racial identity and "what safe spaces exist for her".
