Summary
Elisabeth Moss trades the horrors of dystopian drama The Handmaid's Tale for a different kind of terror in Silka Luisa's eight-part adaptation of Lauren Beukes' best-selling novel. Chicago newspaper archivist Kirby Mazrachi (Moss) barely survives a brutal assault and her professional ambitions are halted as she recovers from the harrowing incident. A recent murder seems to mirror events of her own attack and Kirby joins forces with seasoned reporter Dan Velazquez (Wagner Moura) to connect the dots between the two cases and unmask the perpetrator. However, Kirby's psychological wounds are fresh and deep, and her assailant remains one step ahead of her investigation. Jamie Bell, Phillipa Soo, Chris Chalk and Amy Brenneman also star.
