The rollout of the Mortal Kombat 1 DLC characters has begun, with Omni-Man and Quan Chi available now as part of the Kombat Pack!

The Kombat Pack can be purchased separately or as part of the Premium Edition of MK1. Its contents have been revealed and comic book fans are in for a treat with the incoming batch of DLC fighters.

Alongside new playable characters, the Kombat Pack also includes a selection of new Kameo Fighters.

Available right now as part of the Kombat Pack DLC is the Jean-Claude Van Damme skin for Johnny Cage, which puts the muscles from Brussels' face and voice into the game.

As stated above, Omni-Man and Quan Chi have been added, too, alongside the Tremor Kameo Fighter - and we now have a release date for Kameo Fighter Khameleon.

On top of the new characters, MK series head Ed Boon has revealed that MK1 story DLC is in the works, too!

When do the Mortal Kombat 1 DLC characters arrive?

A number of the Mortal Kombat 1 DLC release dates have been confirmed, and a few new characters are out right now!

It was expected that each new MK1 DLC character would arrive separately, and that's exactly what has been happening. The game's roster is being slowly but surely expanded.

All part of the Kombat Pack 1 DLC, there are six new playable characters being added to Mortal Kombat 1, and five new Kameo Fighters. The release schedule for them all is as follows:

  • Playable characters:
    • Omni-Man (from Invincible) | Available now!
    • Quan Chi | Available in early access now! Release date of 21st December 2023 for everyone else
    • Peacemaker (from DC Peacemaker/The Suicide Squad) | Should be available around mid-February (based on the ending of Invasions Mode Season 3/start of Season 4)
    • Ermac | Spring 2024
    • Homelander (from The Boys) | Spring 2024
    • Takeda Takahashi | Summer 2024
  • Kameo Fighters:
    • Tremor | Available now!
    • Khameleon | 16th January 2024 release date
    • Ferra | Release date TBC
    • Mavado | Release date TBC
    • Janet Cage | Release date TBC

As soon as the official release dates for each DLC character are confirmed, we’ll update this page. We’ll also update this page with more new DLC characters if and when any more are confirmed.

Who knows? Maybe we'll see Barbie's Ken added to the game eventually.

What is the Mortal Kombat 1 story DLC? Release date speculation

Ed Boon has confirmed that Mortal Kombat 1 DLC is in the works. It sounds as though the development team is working on something similar to the Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath story expansion.

Revealed during the CCXP23 event in Brazil in early December 2023, Ed Boon took to the stage to reveal: "Just like we did with Mortal Kombat 11, we're gonna release a second part with more story... and we have a big surprise after that... we're gonna be supporting the game for even longer than we did with Mortal Kombat 11, so that's gonna be fun."

How the story will continue in upcoming Aftermath-alike DLC is anyone's guess. We'll have to wait and see what the big surprise is that Ed Boon and the team have up their sleeves.
