The British Open concludes today as Mark Williams and Mark Selby go head-to-head in what promises to be a closely matched final in Cheltenham.

The pair came through their semi-final clashes against Hossein Vafaei and Xiao Guodong respectively on Saturday and now face off against each other for the 40th time – with Selby boasting the better head-to-head record as things stand.

Williams previously won the event in 2021 – the first time it had been held in 17 years – but Selby is looking for his first victory at the tournament to add to his impressive trophy haul in other competitions.

Top players Ronnie O'Sullivan, Luca Brecel and Mark Allen form the elite trio atop the world rankings, but the former withdrew from this tournament and the latter pair were both eliminated in the early stages.
